On November 30, 2023 Chengdu Satellite Internet and Satellite Application Industry Development Conference was held in Chengdu. With the theme of "Stars Gather in Chengdu to Create a Future", the conference aims to build a platform for political, industrial, academic and research exchanges, discuss industrial development prospects, share urban development opportunities, create win-win ecology for cooperation, and promote high-quality industrial development. It is the first city level brand event held since Chengdu launched the work of building a strong chain of satellite Internet and satellite application industries.

The "Chengdu Satellite Internet and Satellite Application Industry Development Plan (2023-2030)" (hereinafter referred to as the "Plan") was released at the event site, providing a "roadmap" for Chengdu to accelerate the construction of a new infrastructure integrating heaven and earth and ubiquitous Zhilian, and build a national leading satellite Internet and satellite application benchmark city.

In terms of development goals, the Plan focuses on the key links of the whole satellite manufacturing industry chain and the high-end links of the satellite data application value chain, and strives to promote high-quality development of the satellite Internet and satellite application industry. It proposes that by 2025, the scale of the core industry will reach 30 billion yuan, strive to create a national satellite Internet and satellite application industry demonstration base, and basically build a satellite Internet and satellite application demonstration city; By 2030, we will strive to build a 100-billion level industrial cluster of satellite Internet and satellite application, and comprehensively build a benchmark city of satellite Internet and satellite applications.

In terms of key tasks, the Plan focuses on the construction of a scientific and technological innovation source of satellite Internet and satellite applications, a high-end manufacturing cluster, an application scenario demonstration site, and a new highland of industrial ecology, and further carries out four major tasks, namely, innovation leadership, industrial capacity improvement, scenario demonstration, and ecological improvement.
